NATURAL FILLERS

Restylane, Hylaform, Captique – With age, faces begin to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure, and years of facial muscle movement such as smiling, chewing, and squinting. Underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plump begin to break down leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet, or facial creases over the areas where the muscle movement occur. Most commonly in the past, we use injectable Collagen but now new products like Restylane and Hylaform which last longer can help fill in these lines and creases temporarily restoring them to smoother more youthful looking appearance. When injected beneath the skin, these fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face adding fullness to the lips and cheeks. Here at Élan Plastic Surgery Group, we realize the value in these new techniques that can improve areas that surgery cannot improve.

These procedures take 30-45 minutes to perform in our office and can be done by just numbing up the area around where the injection will be done. This procedure is very interactive with the patient's telling us where they would like more or less substance injected into the various lines of their face yielding a totally satisfied patient at the end of the procedure. Minimal recovery is the norm for this procedure before patients can resume their normal activities. Often patients are going out that evening to events that are planned with few side effects. Often we combine this procedure with Botox injection to furthur rejuvenate the face.
